A Sweet Afternoon at The Langham Hotel’s Saturday Chocolate Bar in Boston
Updated: Jul 24, 2020

If you’re a chocolate lover — and let’s be honest — who isn’t? I’ve found your #1 stop for a decadent indulgence in Boston: The Saturday Chocolate Bar at Cafe Fleuri in the Langham Hotel Boston.
With more than 100 different desserts on offer in an all you can eat buffet… the Chocolate Bar at the Langham Hotel is Willy Wonka’s Factory come to life.
Immediately upon entering the hotel the rich, luscious scent of chocolate wafts down the staircase and pulls you in right in.
I’d be lying if I said my mouth wasn’t watering before we even got to our table.
Crepes, cannolis, ice cream, cookies, cupcakes, donuts… if it’s a dessert, it was there. The treats ranged from your classics: warm cookies and milk…

To creative spins on old favourites…
Like “Twinkies Our Way,”…

Homemade raspberry ‘poptarts’…

Milk and cereal inspired treats…

and a S’Mores themed creation that Lewis deemed one of the best desserts he’d ever eaten!

I know Lewis and I both had the wide-eyed look of kids in a candy store when we entered the room.
Dark, white and milk chocolate flowed down from towering chocolate fountains surrounded by platters of fresh cut strawberries and pineapple, marshmallows and rice crispy squares, pretzel rods and even potato chips just waiting to be drizzled.
Platters of cakes and truffles filled tables.

A chef hand mixed toppings into gourmet ice cream on a cold stone:

An entire wall of brightly coloured frosted and decorated donuts made for a popular photo backdrop.

My favourite station: a crepe bar where you could choose between chocolate or traditional vanilla crepes stuffed with fresh berries, caramelized bananas or nutella. You even had the option to flambé your crepe.

Lewis loved the ‘chocolate soup’ aka the world’s chocolatiest hot chocolate of all time.
The Saturday Chocolate bar has four seatings: 11:00am, 11:30am, 1:00pm and 1:30pm. Lewis and I were booked for the 1:00pm and I was slightly worried there wouldn’t be as many treats left over by the afternoon but the staff were constantly replenishing the goods and there was absolutely no shortage of sweets on hand.
Definitely request a table in the main room, by the window if you can. We loved being near the live band, our city view out the window, and of course, being close to the chocolate!
Thank you Langham Boston for a super sweet afternoon! All opinions are my own.
