What I’ve Been Watching Lately
I know many of you are on this page because of a love of travel but…. unfortunately we’re not doing a lot of that these days. So here are some of the things I’ve been watching to keep my occupied in the meantime and hey, maybe this can be some inspiration of what to add to your watchlist for your next long flight or road trip (whenever that may be!).
The Wilds (Amazon Prime)
I LOVED this show. You have to get past some serioiusly cheesy scripting in the first episode but if you can stick it out it’s a great show. It’s kind of a cross between LOST and the Breakfast Club. Lewis and I were totally sucked in and watched the whole season over one weekend. I cannot WAIT for a second season and luckily they’ve already announced that one is in the works.
Ginny and Georgia (Netflix)
Similar to The Wilds I almost turned this show off halfway through the first episode because, frankly, it seemed stupid. But if you stick with it you’ll find an awesome mixture of Gilmore Girls, Mean Girls, The O.C. and Desperate Housewives. An unexpectedly fun part of this show for me is that it takes place in fictional ‘Wellsbury,’ Massachusetts which was based off of my hometown.
The Undoing (HBO Max)
This was a fantastic quick watch featuring an all-star cast. There were plenty of twists and turns and Lewis and I kept changing our minds of who we guessed the murderer was. Framing Britney Spears (Hulu)
This document-special was honestly really sad. Britney Spears’ conservatorship seems like a really screwed up situation. It was hard to watch her mental health being publically mocked. Little Fires Everywhere (Hulu)
I can’t believe we were so late to the game on this show but WOW was it good. If you are a fan of Big Little Lies you’ll really like this series. I hadn’t read Celeste Ng’s book prior to watching this show (and I kind of wish I had) but it’s on my to-read list now. I loved that it took place in the 90s and I thought the show was so well cast. I really hope they make a second season.
