Cycle Tour Through London with London Bicycle Company
On one of the days we were in London we woke up early and took a bike tour of London with London Bicycle Tour Company.

It was absolutely FREEZING but we had such a good time and learned so many cool new things about London!
We did the Classic tour which departs daily from just along South Bank near Waterloo tube station at 10:30am and lasts about 3 hours. You cycle along some of London’s most popular destinations like The Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace, Covent Garden and St Paul’s Cathedral all whilst your guide keeps you laughing and listening to some incredible stories and facts about historic London.

London has a cycle “superhighway” system which is an awesome way to get around through the city. Cycle routes run from outer London into and across central London giving riders safer, faster and more direct routes into the city.

We got to get a different perspective of some of our favorite landmarks across the city.
The first stop was Cleopatra’s Needle with a spectacular riverside views of the River Thames and the iconic London Eye.

We cycled through Parliament square, gazed at Westminster Abbey and the Palace of Westminster before heading off to Buckingham Palace via St James’s Park just in time to watch the Changing of the Guards.
Then straight on to Trafalgar Square where we saw Lord Nelson’s statue on the pedestal guarded by bronze lions.

We biked through cobblestoned Covent Garden, Lincoln’s Inn Fields, and Smithfield Market before stopping to admire St Paul’s Cathedral before crossing over Blackfriars Bridge and heading back to base.

You cover a lot of ground!!
I definitely think that seeing London this way is one of the best ways to get acquainted with the layout of the city and makes you realize how walkable it really is. Especially if you are going to be in London a long time (like studying abroad for a semester) I think this is not only fun but very useful!
Thank you to London Bicycle Tour Company for inviting me to experience their awesome tour! As always, my opinions are my own!
