A GUIDE TO LONDON’S BOROUGH MARKET
Fresh baked chocolate chip cookies the size of dinner plates, melty-gooey grilled cheese sandwiches, mulled wine, made-to-order Italian panini you can find it all and more at Borough Market in central London. Borough Market is always one of my first stops every time I come to London. It’s a celebration for the senses… the smells, the colors and of course the flavors! It’s a total food paradise.
Just off the London Bridge stop on the Northern or Jubilee lines follow the crowd of hungry tourists and London natives alike to market of delicacies from around the world. Go hungry and try everything you’re offered (there’s loads of free samples if you go around 11am just before it gets super busy for lunchtime).

A donut from Bread Ahead is an absolute must. These guys have totally perfected a soft doughy donut base coated in sugar and filled with creamy vanilla deliciousness.

The bread at the stall looked fantastic as well…

If you’re sweet tooth is still up for it head to Rabot 1745 for the most decadent hot chocolate of your life. With flavors like salted caramel, hazelnut, white chocolate and chili you may have to have more than one.

Rabot 1745 is just on the edge of the actual Market. The upstairs is more casual for deserts and coffee and the downstairs has a full chocolate inspired restaurant. I think the downstairs would be such a cute location for a little Valentine’s date!

Check out the chocolate being melted! *Drooling*
Ok, and here’s a few more carbs for ya…
La tua pasta is one of my all-time favorite stalls at Borough. They usually always have someone passing out samples and I would be lying if I said I wasn’t guilty of walking past more than once.

These gigantic chocolate chip cookies were always a favorite with my friends when I was studying abroad in London.

And who can resist booths and booths of mulled wine on a chilly London day?

Of course there are some healthy foods here as well…

This fruit stand was so beautiful I couldn’t stop taking photos of all the striking colors in the produce!

And finally, you can’t visit London without trying a traditional meat pie or my favorite, a scotch egg…

Borough Market is open Monday through Saturday from 10am to 5pm. Don’t miss it!!
