    48 Hours in Dubai!

    48 Hours in Dubai!

I don’t even know where to begin to describe our whirlwind trip to Dubai, what an amazing place. It feels like we were there for one extremely long day or an entire week–I’ve pretty much lost all sense of time. I’ll start from the beginning. On Wednesday morning I woke at 5am (one last time) to race to Soul. It was pretty weird and nice to be hustling out there so early to actually ride and not work. My goal with that was to workout so hard that I had no choice but to sleep o

My Year In Australia: The Plan (So Far!)

If you haven’t already heard, Lewis and I are moving to Australia! We’re headed Down Under on a year-long working holiday visa. I leave for Oz on September 14th from Boston Logan Airport at the same time Lewis will leave from London Heathrow and (if all goes according to plan) our planes will reach Dubai airport early morning on the 15th. Why Dubai? No particular reason other than when else are we going to have the chance to visit Dubai?! But also, neither of us wanted to fly

7 Free (Or Sort of Free) Things to Do in London

“When a man is tired of London, he is tired of life; for there is in London all that life can afford.” There is SO much to see and do in London. Here are some of my favorite off-the-beaten-path free or free-ish things to do in the city! Shop the Brick Lane Market and grab a bagel at Beigel Bake: When you see a really long line of locals outside of a totally understated shopfront you know something’s gotta be be good. That’s what happened to me on Brick Lane. I was starving an

Your Long Distance Relationship is NOT Doomed

Long distance is HARD, there’s no arguing that. But just because you need to be in a long distance relationship, whether it’s because you’re traveling and your partner isn’t or you and your partner work or go to school in different states or even countries,  it doesn’t mean the relationship is doomed! It just means you have to be willing to WORK. My boyfriend, Lewis, and I met while working at a summer camp on Cape Cod in 2013. A lot has happened since then: We were long dist

Snapshot Scene – My Favorite Photo from My Semester in London

This is my favorite photo from the six months I spent in the UK. My roommates and I had just gotten the keys to our new flat. It was a tiny two bedroom that the four of us would share, but it was in central London and only a five minute walk from Hyde Park and we were excited to finally start feeling settled in our new country. We spent the morning moving all of our belongings over from the Holborn hotel that had been our home for the last week to where we would be living inQ

Snack Safe: Foods to Fly With

Let Turbulence be the Only Rumbling On Your Next Flight—Not your stomach! I am the kind of girl who’s always got a snack in her purse. I’ll forget my keys, iPhone, and credit card but always have a Ziploc full of pretzels lingering at the bottom of my Longchamp. So maybe it’s not surprising that I’ve held up an entire TSA security line to Aruba because I had a tub of Moroccan hummus in my purse—hey, it isn’t technically a liquid and the small crudité platter in my carry on ne

    Spontaneous NYC

I am off on another trip! Last minute adventures has seriously been my thing lately and I don’t hate it. Yesterday I was trying desperately to figure out what activities I could plan for myself this weekend in order to avoid dying of boredom while my roommates all participated in sorority recruitment. I literally had from Thursday at two p.m. til Tuesday morning free because of the long weekend and I knew no amount of binge-(re)watching One Tree Hill would satisfy me. So I bo

    An Investment in Exploration

There are 172 days, 19 hours and 55 minutes until graduation (not that I’m counting). But, technically, that means that there are only 172 days left to do totally irresponsible things and have it still be kind of, technically, OK. That’s what I am telling myself anyway in order to justify spending what is almost literally half of my life savings on an impulsive trip to London–again! I cannot wait. I’ve written about this before but I think one of the best feelings in the whol

    About Katie

I’m happiest when I’m exploring new places, lying on the beach or eating fresh foods (and if that were all to happen at once, I’d be set!).
